Stan State Futsal Academy

About Futsal

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played around the world and is officially recognized by FIFA.  It is a 5v5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low-bounce ball.  Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls.  It places a large emphasis on technical skill in high pressure situations which can be translated to the oudoor game.  The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick refleces, fast thinking and pin-point passing.  Great soccer players like Pele, Ronaldo, and Messi grew up playing the game and credit futsal with develping their skills.

Stan State Futsal Academy

In 2019 head women's soccer coach Gabriel Bolton established the Stan State Futsal Academy.  The goal is to introduce the game to as many kids as possible in the Turlock and Central Valley community.  Every effort is made to provide these opportunity at no or low cost so that there is no financial barrier to participation.

Futsal 4 Kids Program

The first component of the Stan State Futsal Academy, Futsal 4 Kids, is a donation-based program intended to introduce the game to children as young as 4 years old.  This program includes camps, clinics, and tournaments.  Futsal 4 Kids programs are announced via our Facebook Page at

Our Friday Night Futsal League is designed to create a competitive futsal environment where players can develop their skills and learn the game.  The league is 5 weeks in length.  This is a "house league" format where players register as individuals.  Each week they are placed on a team and there is a champion at the end of each session.  The following week they are shuffled onto new teams and the competition starts over.  We also recognize an overall champion at the end of five weeks based on individual standings through a points system.  All of the players in the league are coached by Stan State women's soccer players who are experienced at playing futsal and in the rules of the game.  There are no additional practices or trainings associated with this league.  When players show up each Friday they are assigned a coach who takes them through a warm-up that emphasizes futsal skill development and then they play the games.
